The Terror plot
The year is 1847. The crew of the Royal Navy sets out on an expedition in the treacherous Arctic in search of a passage. However, the crew is confronted by a clever and evil monster, resulting in a desperate fight for survival. The consequences of this endanger the region and its people. The sailors begin to suspect that the creature attacking them is of supernatural origin.

Pretty nice series, well played and atmospheric and gruesome enough, but it can't be in the shadow of Dan Simmons' book of the same name. The characters are too flat for that and the budget is too low. Nevertheless, at times quite exciting and very grim, especially towards the end. Visually, the series does drop a few stitches here and there, but it can go on. This is probably better enjoyed if you don't know the book.
