Ten Pound Poms plot
The story follows a group of Britons, often referred to colloquially as Poms in Australia and New Zealand, who leave post-war Britain for Australia in 1956. For just £10 they would get a better home, better job prospects and a better quality of life there. However, the group soon learns that life in Australia is not as promised. Struggling with their new identities as immigrants, they experience triumphs and pitfalls as they adjust to a new life in a new land, far from Britain and familiarity.
