Rivals plot
It's 1986 and Britain's economy is booming. Former Olympian and inveterate womaniser Rupert Campbell-Black and Corinium Television boss Tony Baddingham have a long-running feud. When the pair become embroiled in a bidding war for a broadcasting licence, the loyalties of those around them are tested and presenter Declan O'Hara finds himself caught in the middle. Plans for a takeover are put on hold when something blossoms between Rupert and Declan's daughter, Taggie O'Hara, and a real-life love triangle develops with brilliant American producer Cameron Cook, Tony's right-hand man.

What a delightful series this is, set in the UK in the 80s, with the television landscape as its common thread and as a result, a delirious series full of sex, deceit and bickering at the highest level. 'Is it subtle? Certainly not. Is it profound? Not at all. Is it a pleasure to watch? Hell yeah!'
With most series you have to wait a bit and after a few episodes you know whether it is completely your thing or not, well with this series you know almost immediately and here it was a resounding yes after 5 minutes.
The acting is of a very high standard, the dialogues, the relationships between all the characters and you really need to take a notebook to keep track of who has done it with whom and who has what relationship with whom.
Yes, this is a great comedy full of satire and the excesses of humanity.
I'm hesitating between a 4.5 or 5/5*, naah just raised it to maximum score.
