Project Orpheus plot
Ivan, Nienke, IJsbrand, Amira and Daan get the chance to be trained for a year by the renowned doctor Lunshof. The students accidentally discover Project Orpheus. In this project, subjects are clinically killed and then injected with a secret drug that allows them to be brought back to life. For a short period of time they move into the afterlife, between life and death. There they receive a special gift, which at first seems very valuable, but perhaps carries even more dangers. It gradually becomes apparent that the experiment does not only serve a scientific purpose, as people disappear from the hospital every so often.

Not long ago I would have thought you were crazy if you said there would be a Dutch series with a horror theme. Project Orpheus is in that sense un-Dutch: raunchy operating table gore, street fighting, demonic powers from the afterlife, main characters with superpowers. It's just a shame that everything has been thrown into a blender to come together as forced as possible. Perhaps a more consistent plot, with fewer odd forays into different genre elements, would make it come into its own.
