Very nice series that reminded me a lot of the Columbo series. The set-up, the ingenious murders and the leading actress (Columbo was also the underdog and of course always knew when someone was lying) have a very high Columbo element.
I wouldn't be surprised if that series was the main source of inspiration.

Starts out quite well but ultimately disappoints. The formula is repeated every episode. Around the fifth episode it just starts to get boring.
