Playing Nice plot

Set against a vast Cornish landscape, two couples discover their toddlers have been switched at birth by a hospital order. Now they face a dilemma: keep the sons they raised and loved, or reclaim their biological child? At first, all four seem to agree on a solution, but it soon becomes clear that there are ulterior motives at play.

The four-part Playing Nice is based on the premise that two babies are switched after birth. In addition to this horrible tragedy, Playing Nice is also a thriller, a legal drama and a character study of the biological parents. Because the plot twists also follow each other in rapid succession, Playing Nice is a lot. Too much. The credibility is under severe pressure for four episodes. The series is saved by the excellent acting of the four parents. Especially Niamh Algar (Pure, Deceit) and James McArdle (Sexy Beast, Mare of Easttown) act as if their lives depend on it.
