Picket Fences plot

Picket Fences follows the lives of the inhabitants of the small Wisconsin town of Rome. Sheriff Jimmy Brock along with his two associates Kenny Lacos and Maxine Stewart struggle to keep order in Rome, where the strangest things happen. There are cows who give birth to human babies, a series of people who end up dead in freezers and teachers who teach gender reassignment. There is also a steady stream of mayors, but none of them last long in the city. Jimmy is married to the town doctor, Jill, and together they try to raise their three children Kimberly, Matthew and Zachary, despite the difficult circumstances in which they live.
