The wealthy Bussink family tries in vain to maintain its good name and financial empire at a time when traditions are disappearing and money trading is becoming more aggressive and international. We follow the Bussink family from the moment that Splinter Bussink retires as director of his bank, which is being absorbed by the international Holland Bank, with son Kiet on the board of the new bank. The change also has many consequences in the family sphere.
