Les Revenants plot
The quiet life in a village in the French Alps is shattered: several residents, who everyone thought were dead, suddenly return home. They look dazed and don't even realize that they had indeed died years ago. The bizarre thing is that they look completely normal. They have not outwardly aged a day and have no sense of their own mortality. Each and every one of them is determined to pick up the thread of their lives again. But then the villagers begin to realize that they are not the only ones who have returned from the dead. Because shortly afterwards the village is ravaged by a series of gruesome murders. It looks like a serial killer from the past has become active again. And it all gets even weirder...

At first I didn't know what to think about the story. Yes, a bus with school children had crashed. That was also quite topical in Belgium because of the bus disaster in sierre. Normally I'm not attracted to this kind of drama, but it must have happened because of that current event. But the atmosphere immediately appealed to me. Very mysterious. In addition, the music was beautiful. Every episode I became more curious about what was going to happen. AWESOME.

A nice series indeed. The plot itself is not very memorable, but the atmosphere is very strong. The music is very fitting, visually it is solid, the setting is strong and the mysterious aspects are nicely understated. Yes, the series is a bit on the slow side, but I personally thought that suited the calm, mysterious atmosphere. It doesn't get really brilliant anywhere, but on the other hand the level is very constant. 3.75*

Unfortunately I have to agree with stinissen: you can safely skip this season. In my opinion it is inferior to the first season in all respects: it is much less atmospheric (among other things because of less music, which is also used less strongly), the subtlety is completely gone and the plot did not interest me for a moment. I really had to struggle through it, and sometimes I even skipped parts of episodes out of boredom. There are still some good parts in the series (Victor, for example, remains an intriguing character), but the majority I found very disappointing. 2.25*
