Trial By Jury gives the viewer a unique look at how the justice system works in the United States. Not only can you see how the prosecutors and the police work, but also how everything works with lawyers, judges, prosecutors and the jury. The viewer sees the crimes and lawsuits not only through the eyes of the police and justice, but also through those of suspects, lawyers and judges. Lennie Briscoe is a retired NYPD operative who joins a prosecutor's office. Through him and various lawyers, jury members and judicial officials, the complex workings of the judicial system quickly become clear.
