Invisible Heroes plot
1973, Santiago, Chile. On September 11, General Augusto Pinochet staged a coup against President-elect Salvador Allende, marking the beginning of a military regime. Tanks drive through the streets of Santiago, people are pulled from their beds in the middle of the night and opponents are coldly shot or captured. Tapani Brotherus, a Finnish diplomat in the Chilean capital, is inspired by the Swedish ambassador and goes against official Finnish policy to remain neutral. When political refugees climb the walls of his domain in search of protection, he decides to fight for his ideals. Brotherus is willing to risk his life to save the lives of thousands of others.
