Hawthorne plot

The strong and caring Director of Nursing, Christina Hawthorne, is constantly fighting battles at Richmond Trinity Hospital in Richmond that she often knows she won't win. Whether it's treating a homeless woman or preventing a suicidal cancer patient from committing suicide, Christina is pitted against hospital administrators, heartless doctors, apathetic co-workers, and the system that sometimes forgets it's there to to serve the sick. Recently widowed Christina is also the mother of a smart, quirky teenager. She must therefore ensure a good balance between her career and her equally important role as a single parent.
