Theodore Roosevelt is on his way to fame. He is a Harvard graduate, comes from a prominent family, is an up-and-coming politician, and his wife Alice is pregnant. Then his promising future unfortunately turns into a tragedy. His mother dies of typhoid fever and Alice is killed on the same day during childbirth. Devastated, Teddy leaves his urban world of high-rises and high society for the desolate Dakota, where, by facing the harsh realities of life on the American frontier, he wants to make himself something greater.
