Domina plot
Livia Drusilla's father Marcus Livius Drusus Claudianus was a senator who supported Brutus and Cassius, who had plotted the assassination of Julius Caesar, and fought in the war against Octavian and Marcus Anthonius. When his party threatened to lose this war, he committed suicide. Livia is driven to avenge her father and rule the Roman Empire as Empress. She succeeds, first as the wife of Tiberius Claudius Nero, and later as the wife of Emperor Augustus. Her influence reaches far, and she wants to secure the future for her two sons, including the future Emperor Tiberius. In this she does not shy away from things like swearing conspiracies, corruption, nor murder. Roman society is becoming increasingly brutal than it already was.

At first I thought it was a bit tame for a Roman series. As the series progresses it gets a bit better, but still not the level of a Rome or Spartacus. I hope to see that in season 2. I liked the ending. The intrigue goes a long way but it is well put together and shows again a part of history that many people do not know. What happened in the decades after Julius Caesar's death?
