Lars Martin Johansson, retired director of the National Criminal Investigation Service, has had a stroke and has been hospitalized. His unhealthy lifestyle has taken its toll. In the hospital, he unexpectedly comes across new information about an old, unsolved case: the rape and murder of nine-year-old Yasmine Ermegan. The case is already closed, but Johansson can use the distraction well and throws himself completely on the case. He gathers a team of people around him and with their help unravels a pedophile network. However, as the investigation progresses, Johansson's health continues to deteriorate.
