Vreemd dat er qua kijkcijfers zo'n gigantisch verschil tussen het eerste en het tweede seizoen zat. Dit tweede seizoen vind ik namelijk nog een stukje sterker en spectaculairder dan het eerste seizoen. Acteerwerk is wederom van goed niveau. Nabil Mallat (Idriss), Vincent Van Sande (Chris) en Manou Kersting (Mike) zijn fijne toevoegingen in dit tweede seizoen. Goed gecast allen. Daarnaast ook leuk dat Nald een grotere, belangrijkere rol heeft dit tweede seizoen. Steelt dit seizoen best wel een beetje de show (heerlijk ook die droge conversaties tussen hem en Lommers). Helaas moeten we wel al heel snel afscheidt nemen van Lex, maar de scene waarin dat gebeurd is dan wel weer één van mijn favorieten van de hele serie. Dit tweede seizoen komt net iets groter en duurder over dan het eerste. Met de gevangenis en de transitzone krijgen we er ook twee toffe locaties bij (nadeel van het eerste seizoen was bijvoorbeeld dat het zich wel heel erg veel afspeelde in dat computerlab). Merk wel dat ik de gebeurtenissen binnen het cordon (met als hoogtepunt waarschijnlijk de uitbraakpoging uit de transitzone) interessanter vond dan de verhaallijnen buiten het cordon. Vooral dat gedoe met dat gehack was niet zo aan mij besteed. Maar ik kan niet klagen. Cordon is een heerlijke Belgische serie. Ik wou dat de Nederlanders eens de ballen hadden om dit soort series te durven maken, en eens af durven te wijken van het traditionele (politieserie nummer zoveel, en slappe komedie nummer zoveel).... Twintig afleveringen geweldig mee vermaakt.

Strange that there was such a huge difference in viewing figures between the first and second season. I think this second season is even stronger and more spectacular than the first season.

Acting is again of a good standard. Nabil Mallat (Idriss), Vincent Van Sande (Chris) and Manou Kersting (Mike) are great additions to this second season. Well cast everyone. Also nice that Nald has a bigger, more important role this second season. Steals the show quite a bit this season (also lovely those dry conversations between him and Lommers). Unfortunately we have to say goodbye to Lex very soon, but the scene in which that happened is one of my favorites of the entire series.

This second season comes across as slightly bigger and more expensive than the first. With the prison and the transit zone we also get two cool locations (the disadvantage of the first season was, for example, that it took place a lot in that computer lab). Note that I found the events within the cordon (probably culminating in the breakout attempt from the transit zone) more interesting than the storylines outside the cordon. Especially that thing with that hack was not for me.

But I can't complain. Cordon is a wonderful Belgian series. I wish the Dutch had the balls to dare to make this kind of series, and dare to deviate from the traditional (police series number so much, and weak comedy number so much).... Twenty episodes great fun.
