Archive 81 plot
When archivist Dan Turner mysteriously restores a collection of damaged 1994 video tapes, he must reconstruct the work of documentary filmmaker Melody Pendras and her investigation into a dangerous cult. As Dan is sucked into Melody's story, he becomes convinced he can save her from the terrifying end she met 25 years ago.

Strong series!
I seriously wanted to stop after 3 episodes, but I'm glad I moved on. It was all too slow at first and too many balls were thrown in my opinion, making it messy and tedious. But the further I got, the more the series started to get under my skin. It gave me a creepy feeling. Of course the story could have been told faster and shorter, but that would have destroyed the atmosphere and the whole mythology surrounding the story.
For those who expect jumpscares, kills and a fast pace, this will be nothing. If you like movies like Hereditary and Midsommar, this is a series for you.

No idea why this is hype. There is little logic or coherence in it and the characters are poorly developed, especially the supporting roles, making almost everyone weird and/or unsympathetic.
