8 Tage plot
Earth is threatened by an asteroid 60 kilometers in diameter, which is said to strike La Rochelle in France. Attempts by the United States to use nuclear missiles to blow up or divert the asteroid from Earth fail. The chances of survival in Central Europe are virtually nil, leaving many on the run, while others accept the approaching end. The focus is on the couple Uli and Susanne with their two children Leonie and Jonas. The family tries to flee to Russia via Poland, where they are helped by a Polish man.

The total loss of humanity at the moment of a global disaster. Very convincingly portrayed. Very well acted and beautifully filmed. It doesn't make you happy, but it is very fascinating.
