The Blue Planet plot

David Attenborough tells about the in-depth exploration of the undersea world, from the known to the unknown, all the secrets of the sea are revealed. We follow the largest animal on Earth, sink to the depths of the ocean, see the food chain in action and discover the bizarre eating habits of dolphins. In addition, Attenborough asks the question: do you know where the fish from the fish trade comes from and do you have any idea that in some cases these are endangered species?

Aflevering 2 over de diepzee moet één van de zotste uurtjes televisie zijn die ik ooit heb gezien Voor de rest schat ik deze reeks als geheel iets lager in dan opvolger Blue Planet II, vooral omdat ik deze laatste nu eenmaal eerder heb gezien en je kan toch niet ontkennen dat er in 2017 nog iets meer geavanceerde technische middelen voorhanden waren dan 16 jaar eerder. Aangezien er tussen beide reeksen gelijkaardige onderwerpen behandeld worden merk je toch snel het verschil. Desondanks tonnen respect voor dit pionierswerk! BBC Earth for life

Episode 2 about the deep sea has to be one of the craziest hours of television I've ever seen

For the rest, I estimate this series as a whole slightly lower than its successor Blue Planet II, especially because I have the latter earlier seen and you cannot deny that in 2017 there were still slightly more advanced technical resources available than 16 years earlier. Since similar topics are covered between the two series, you will quickly notice the difference. Nevertheless, tons of respect for this pioneering work! BBC Earth for life
