Slijk plot

Cyclocross, football, motocross, cross country running and horse riding. Five sports in wind and weather, and therefore often in the mud. In 'Slijk' we meet people who don't care and go for it: out of passion for their sport. Most of them we don't know (yet). They are in the shadow of bigger talents or have had a lot of bad luck in their careers. They have only just come to see if they are world champions in a lesser-known sport. Some grew up in the Flemish mud, others moved to Belgium to make it here. What possesses them to keep plodding through mud and mire?

TV draait om beeld, anders moet je radio maken. En dat hebben deze regisseurs van productiehuis Diplodokus goed begrepen. Eén van de mooist gefilmde docuseries die ik ooit gezien heb. De trailer alleen al (die over het veldrijden meer bepaald), zegt al genoeg. Geen montagevondst, fltsende scripts. Gewoon eerlijke en vakkundig gemaakte tv. Slijk: Yu - YouTube

TV revolves around images, otherwise you have to make radio. And these directors of production house Diplodokus have understood that very well. One of the best filmed docuseries I've ever seen. The trailer alone (the one about cyclo-cross in particular), says it all. No editing find, flashing scripts. Just honest and expertly made TV.
