Mocronado's plot

A group of five Moroccan men looks back on their working life and considers life today; as a pensioner in a country where they would actually only be 'guests'. How do they view our country? Do they still feel like guests here, or do they feel at home here? How do they feel about their faith, the education of their children, love and integration? Program maker Jalal Bouzamour, himself the son of a guest worker, talks about this with Gouwenaars Abdellah Laâguili (75), Mohamed Amdaouech (77) and Edenaren Hassan El Mourabit (75), Mohamed Aoussar (75) and Hagenaar Mohamed Ibn Amar (90). They are part of the first group of Moroccan men who came to the Netherlands more than half a century ago. All looking for a better future in a country that cried out for cheap labour. All six episodes have a theme that is linked to one main character whose story is central. We discuss topics such as the Netherlands, integration, love, upbringing, old age and retirement. In the sixth and final episode, the men go back to Morocco to show them where they came from.
