I thought it got a bit boring towards the end. These 2 episodes could have been cut just fine to 1.5 to 2 hours max. Now you watch a documentary for almost 3 hours in which it becomes very clear how Jimmy Savile manages to nestle in high society and become a beloved public figure throughout England. He raises millions for destroyed hospitals and does a lot for charitable causes. Only gradually it becomes clear quite quickly that the man leads a double life, doing nefarious things in the hospitals he visits and doing some kind of penance through exhausting physical activities a la Forrest Gump (running all over England). You actually get pushed further and further into this story little by little and so far that works well too.
Still, the climax feels unsatisfactory. The victims don't really matter to me because they don't speak until the end and because he dies you don't really feel the atonement, but of course that's something that all of England is feeling right now. We mainly have to make do with a few testimonials, but a really shocking revelation does not follow at the end because during the first 2 hours it is made clear to you that this man is not fresh and what he has been up to. The only thing you hear is a confirmation of the things that are continuously mentioned in the first 2 hours.
Because of this, I struggled through that last half hour. This could have been put together a little better to keep that tension.
