Synden season 1

When I think of Swedish thrillers, I always think of the standard story: a flawed detective (often with difficult family relationships) solves a murder with a helper, only to find himself in a precarious situation himself. This series fits that bill. Yet, it's more drama with a crime flavor.
Krista Kosonen reveals the emotional rollercoaster of her relationship with her son. Meanwhile, she tries to solve the murder of her foster son.
Kosonen gives a great performance. And I think the other actors do a great job as well.
You'll also see a farming family grappling with all sorts of issues surrounding the murder and a plot of land called "Synden." The farming community also gets involved with the detective and the family. They solve their own problems and don't need outside interference.
The series' ending isn't surprising. The way it builds up to it is more captivating.
The series was fine. Not too many episodes of limited length. It wasn't a high-flyer. I missed the real suspense of a thriller.
