Crime reporter Ruby Herring discovers she has a talent for solving crimes, especially murders. This, much to the dismay of Detective Jake Killian. However, they will often have to join forces and work together to resolve the issues. This often turns out to work quite well. For example, Ruby finds clues to a murder committed five years earlier, involving a local psychic. Ruby and Jake also investigate a suspicious car accident that resulted in death. They think they've solved the case, until Ruby comes across new evidence that questions their initial conclusion.
