I didn't find it so disturbing that the French teacher took the lead and came across things that the police missed, she was also very personally involved in the case, and that whole mystique with her past and the (imagined[ /spoiler]) I thought wolf was a nice addition. She reminded me a bit of Sophie Hilbrand by the way, in appearance.

The whole series was more reminiscent of La Trêve - Season 1 (2016), but that is not surprising in terms of location. Most disturbingly, the leading lady - or the 2nd, but at least Lt. Musso - so was personally involved in the case and she didn't get taken off the case, but continued endangering the investigation, culminating in hitting the pants with the keys a madman who promptly overpowered her and broke out.

Furthermore, the necessary coincidences that you have to face and ultimately a detective to do with nice locations and reasonable to excellent acting. Oh yes, and the ultimate culprit was an excellent creep, but that only really came up in the last episode.

2.5*.

Catchy, exciting six-part miniseries about the disappearance of a sixteen-year-old girl in the French Ardennes. Not equally believable everywhere, but the fun characters and the intriguing story structure make up for a lot. The series is actually captivating right from the start, always a good sign, and the suspense is nicely maintained until the satisfying ending.

Somehow I've ended up in the same kind of (mini)series lately. Actually, I can largely copy the review of the previous one (Stay Close). I like the principle of this kind of series, but oof, the clichés are there. The new chief police officer from outside the village who looks at it differently, the local police who look from the wrong perspective and are personally too involved, everyone in the village who knows each other and becomes suspicious. What an unpleasant role that agent also had. The story is supposed to shock (abused and murdered kids), but it doesn't really do it for me. The quest with all kinds of side paths is sufficiently memorable. The level of drama is just a bit too high for me, it could have been more on the mystery side. It is actually two stories for the price of one, where Eve's becomes increasingly dominant, but completely uninteresting. Disappointing final episode and last half hour completely unnecessary.

Entertaining, but not that strong. So actually fine for a six-part mini-series.
