Solid second series, with a great exciting plot and just enough new elements here and there to keep things fresh. The characters are also fun. Just like in the first season, the credibility of certain developments is under considerable pressure, but it all just stands. The beautiful lead actress Pihla Viitala remains a joy to watch.

S2 is just a notch less than S1, but is captivating enough to keep watching. Especially thanks to Pihla Viitala, who portrays Sofia Karppi modestly, but with verve. Inscrutable, seductive, socially flawed, just some typifications that could also refer to Saga/Sofia Helin from The Bridge. Karppi fits seamlessly into the great stream of contemporary Nordic noir thrillers after The Killing and The Bridge; solidly made, beautiful (winter) landscapes, good actors and a reasonable plot. It's not original, but it's worth watching.

For me one of the better Scandinavian crime series, although Source (Series, 2011 - 2018) (The Bridge) is unmatched. It even seemed at times as if Karppi was imitating the traits of her colleague from The Bridge, Saga Norén.
Season 1 was a bit too much of a good thing in terms of duration. It is recommended to watch this first before starting the second season.
Season 2 was better than season 1 in terms of plot and length.
Both seasons have a good cast and the tension builds up nicely towards the end. The ending contains a certain completion, but there are also elements in it that make a sequel possible, in other words ....
