Elven plot
Ten-year-old Silja grows up with her bigoted grandmother in northern Norway, not far from the Russian border. Silja's mother Grace wants to move with her daughter. When Silja finds a severed hand in a river and shortly after disappears without a trace from the grandmother's house, a feverish search for the girl begins.
