Pretty successful series indeed, with a dark side and strong acting. The names don't lie, of course, with longtime stalwarts Nikolaj Lie Kaas and character head Thomas Bo Larsen as a slick CEO with quite a bit of dirt on his hands and a cop who goes to extremes. Natalie Madueño also made a strong impression as Claudia Moreno, who is constantly on the fine silk thread between good and bad.
The premise of the series is interesting to say the least, and another step in the right direction as far as Scandinavian TV-making is concerned. What the makers have done further with it is forging and patiently building a haunting story, where intrigue and betrayal are never far away.
At the other end of the spectrum we meet Nicky and Bimse, two car mechanics who, due to their semi-forced side income as car thieves, accidentally end up in a carousel that they only get out at the end. Of course this is not loose sand, but it is closely related to the rest of the story, so that the ends are neatly tied together in the last episodes.
Is this a 100 percent success story? Not that anymore. I didn't like the storyline about Mads's wife and children (Thomas Bo Larsen) a bit.
The final episode, on the other hand, was sublime, the very last scene was a complete surprise. I do wonder if there will be a second season though..

First-class Danish drama series with thriller elements, about deep-rooted corruption within a major energy company. Beautifully put together and captivatingly portrayed, with a fine cast and an intelligent and exciting script. At the end, everything seems neatly and satisfactorily completed, but now it turns out that a season two is in the works.

Just before I watched the first season of 'Amount' I had seen the series from Source (Series, 2011 - 2018). Hence my score for 'Amount' is slightly lower. The plot, of course, has a different background. What disappointed me the most: the build-up of 'Amount' just takes too long. It takes too many episodes to get the story going. The same applies to the build-up of tension. I found the cast positive, who also played a large part in 'Source'. This did give me insight into how they performed in a different character. Of the entire cast, I thought Nikolaj Lie Kaas was the best acting. He really makes a cool CEO. From episode 5-6 I found it really interesting. Unfortunately, some events were very coincidental and the ending was very predictable. Despite the flaws, I thought it was a good series.
