The Jefferson family is an African-American family that moves into a luxurious new apartment complex. They quickly become involved in the well-being of other residents here and even real bonds are formed here and there. Yet the Jefferson family is seen as 'new money' and the old guard does not always know how to handle this well. This therefore leads to the necessary difficult situations.
