The Bear plot
We follow Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, a young chef who comes from the world of fine dining. After a heartbreaking death within his family, he returns to his hometown of Chicago to run the family-owned sandwich shop, "The Original Beef of Chicagoland." Very good. My girlfriend works in the culinary sector herself and found it very convincing, she could hardly believe that the characters are played by actors instead of real chefs. Her only quibble is that there is too much staff for such a small business, that would in reality not be profitable.
What is interesting about this series is that it is not a Michelin restaurant for once, but a small low budget restaurant. (Verbal) abuse in the kitchen is normalized on television, but the main character, even though he is such an excellent chef, for once is not a bully, but someone who treats his staff with respect and gives them space for their own input.
I could at least understand that he is full of Gordon Ramsey in the penultimate episode. By one person, who secretly went against him, the restaurant is overrun by customers, while the restaurant is not ready for that yet and that person then also gets in the way. Another employee, meanwhile, is busy with his own hobby instead of doing what he was hired to do. Totally understandable that he snaps at them, but apparently the makers of the series think he's wrong, because afterwards those two are bitching about him without any self-reflection and he offers his apology. bit different to the plot.
That scene, in which everything goes sour, is visually one of the strongest scenes in the series because it concerns one super long shot. A lot of longshots anyway, which I think is very cool. Also in the last episode a long monologue in the style of Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul in which we get to know the main character better. Very strong, anyway the characters are very strong .
Finally, the soundtrack contains a lot of alternative music, which I really like. 4*.

Absolutely enjoy this.
It is a hectic series about restaurant life, mixed with family drama and many comedic moments. The series has a lot of atmosphere and I have to say that everything works out well in the end. Sometimes it is a bit exaggerated, for example Richie is always very difficult to do. Here and there some famous headlines pass by in an atmospheric, stressed series in the city. I've worked in restaurants here and there, and the horror of that work is very evident here and there. What also works well is that the character who died eventually gets to know him well even though there are only a few scenes where you see him. I think the ending is a bit of a shame... I don't know what to do with that. And then suddenly there was a lot of money.
