I'm glad this series is on Netflix. That 70's Show doesn't quite reach the level of a Friends of Married with Children for me, but it's still one of the nicer sitcoms I know. The group of friends is nice, Eric's parents are nice (Red in particular makes for a good laugh several times) and all the references to politics and culture from the 70s are very funny to see.

I have to say that I found this second season slightly less good than the predecessor (except for the intro, which has just improved). This is not because of the humor, because it is still on the same level. It is partly due to the annoying, childish bickering between Bob and Midge Pinciotti. I understand that people want to emphasize 'the new attitude towards sexuality', as the series description above indicates, but where Bob was a sympathetic character in season 1, I found him here an annoying grunt. Even within my group of friends, I didn't always think everyone was doing well. Fez has become quite a nice character, but I found Kelso quite irritating at times. Laurie is a nice addition, because she knows how to stir up the group several times.

Apart from those two negatives, I still had a great time with this one. There are plenty of fun episodes (think 'Halloween', 'Vanstock', 'Red's Birthday', 'Hunting', 'Burning Down the House', 'The First Time' and 'Kitty and Eric's Night Out') and the chemistry between the characters is a joy to watch. On to season 3!

3.5*

This season is also fun. The first episode is a copy of the pilot, but with the roles of parents and youth reversed. Best characters remain Red and Kitty; Donna's parents are a bit over the top stupid and this season also introduces Leo, who I'm not a big fan of for the same reason. Fortunately, his role in this season is still relatively small.

In general, imaginary situations are still played nicely and sometimes with camera perspectives such as Forman in the last episode looking through his legs at his and Donna's parents after he drops his pants. But I still feel that the freshness seems to be going away a bit. Nevertheless, also for this season 3*.
