Snatch plot

Snatch is about a group of twenty-something up-and-coming scam artists who come into contact with a truckload of stolen gold. Suddenly they find themselves in the world of organized crime. The group must quickly adapt to the dangers posed by London's underworld, such as ruffian cops, trailer boxers and international mob bosses.

Glad en stijlvol, het is duidelijk waar hier de aandacht naartoe gaat. Als je een spin-off-serie van zo'n geweldige film gaat maken, leg je de verwachtingen hoog. En die worden zeker niet ingelost. Van de verhaallijn, uitwerking, acteerwerk en dergelijke moet het het niet hebben. Het gaat puur om mooie plaatjes en stoere settings. Als je het op die manier benaderd, heb je nog een aardig tussendoortje.

Sleek and stylish, it's clear where the focus is going here. When you're going to make a spin-off series of such a great film, you're going to set expectations high. And they're certainly not met. It doesn't have to rely on the storyline, execution, acting and such. It's purely about pretty pictures and cool settings. If you approach it that way, you've got a nice little snack.
