Sanford and Son plot
Sanford and Son is the American version of the British comedy series Steptoe and Son. Fred G. Sanford, in his fifties, is a gruff widower who trades in all sorts of things in his Los Angeles store. He is blunt and rude to everything and everyone and regularly thinks that he has found a way to get rich easily, which often gets him into trouble. His son Lamont is co-owner of the business and a lot more friendly and reasonable. He usually does most of the work and his father is behind the rags so that he also does his part. Although the two really can't live without the other, they are constantly disparaging each other.
