Two girlfriends try to make a success of their existence in Miami, where Shawna and Mia are staying. Shawna's rap career has come to a head; In order to pay the bills, she works as a hotel clerk in a hotel where she is confronted with a host of annoying guests every day. Mia has a daughter whose father is largely absent – she earns money from online sex work. Until the two rekindle Shawna's musical ambitions by founding a rap group.
