Raised by Refugees plot

Twelve-year-old Pax's father is from Iran and his mother is from Pakistan. Pax's parents came to New Zealand as refugees in the late 1980s. They want Pax to get good grades at school, but Pax mainly wants to be accepted by the rest of the class. However, a major international incident throws a spanner in the works.
