Simon ten Cate has an advertising agency and since the death of his wife, his housekeeper Jeltje takes care of his daughter Christien. His mother-in-law Nel regularly comes by to interfere with everything. At work, his colleague Dirk Vogelzang often pesters him with complaints about his bad marriage.
