Kopspijkers plot

Comedic talk show, in which satirical cabaret and gloating were the mainstays. Much room was made for television clips in which funny slips of the tongue or other stupidities were shown, and pre-cooked interviews with unusual people such as UFO experts, clairvoyants and other easy targets of ridicule. This was part of the standard repertoire for a long time, as did 'strange cuts in series' (for example, a cake that suddenly shrinks when changing camera angles). Also under names such as 'Vergulde Nachtspiegel', 'Gouden Ezel', 'Gouden Zwatelaar', 'Gouden Knuppel' and 'Gouden Parrot', a prize was awarded every season to someone who had committed some stupidity. The fragments with television blunders also played a leading role in the program part 'Kopmetaalen': a game in which famous Dutch people had to combine answering questions about these fragments with carpentry skills. But the satirical cabaret was the most important part: a number of comedians took a satirical look at current issues, by portraying famous people as characters and thus conducting interviews with Spijkerman, at the table or, as later, at a bar. There were also many musical parodies.
