Everything Sucks! plot

Everything Sucks! is set in 1996 in the village of Boring, Oregon. In this year, discmans, 'sexting' with calculators and flamboyant outfits were an integral part of the children's young lives. The students from the drama club and the A/C club at Boring High School team up to make a movie and endure the trials and tribulations of high school. The two groups have one thing in common: they are all misfits.

Ondanks dat deze highschool-serie zich afspeelt midden jaren '90, komt het geheel wel fris over. Luchtige verhaallijntjes en mede door de korte speelduur kijkt het allemaal wel gemakkelijk weg. Ook al is het acteerwerk van een wisselend niveau, dit wordt deels gecompenseerd door het jeugdige enthousiasme.

Despite the fact that this high school series is set in the mid 90s, the whole thing comes across as fresh. Light-hearted storylines and partly due to the short playing time, it all looks easy. Even though the acting is of a varying level, this is partly compensated by the youthful enthusiasm.

Throwback to the nineties. Matige serie. De hoeveelheid jaren 90 is minimaal. Daar had er best wel wat van in mogen zitten. De serie is gewoon een aaneenschakeling van herhalingen. Vooral in de relatie tussen Luke en Kate. De story arc is best o.k., maar de boodschap ligt er af en toe net iets te dik bovenop. Het leukste moet toch komen van de vader van Kate en de moeder van Luke. Best vreemd in een serie die vooral de kinderen lijkt te willen volgen ipv. de ouders. Verder kijkt het allemaal wel lekker weg, maar bijzonder of echt goed wordt Everything Sucks! niet

Mediocre series. The amount of 90s is minimal. There should have been some of that. The series is simply a series of repetitions. Especially in the relationship between Luke and Kate. The story arc is quite ok, but the message is sometimes a bit too thick. The best part has to come from Kate's father and Luke's mother. Quite strange in a series that mainly seems to want to follow the children instead of. the parents. Other than that, it all looks nice, but Everything Sucks will be special or really good! not
