In 'Dit Was het Nieuws', two teams make satirical comments about the previous week's news. The program takes the form of a game program, in which two teams compete against each other led by a game master. The scoring is not important ("we'll take a look at the score"), because after the first round it is always equal. A winner is announced at the end of the game. Each team consists of a permanent team leader and a weekly guest.
