The Adventures of Tintin plot

Reporter Tintin, accompanied by his four-legged friend Bobbie, investigate various cases around the world. His travels earn him loyal friends, including the irascible Captain Haddock, the talented (but dull) Professor Calculus and the clumsy detectives Jansen and Janssen, who then join him on his adventures.

Jeugdsentiment maar wel van het beste soort. Erg leuk voor kinderen en tieners, voor volwassenen misschien iets te stereotiep.

Youthful sentiment but of the best kind. Great fun for kids and teens, maybe a bit too stereotypical for adults.

Er bestaat nog een kuifje serie maar dan uit de jaren 70 80 die slechts een handjevol van de (strip) titels bevat en waarin de makers een eigen draai aan de verhalen hebben gemaakt. Deze hier beschreven serie heb ik op dvd, evenals de strips. Nu moet ik zeggen dat ik de strips beter vind. de nazaten van Herge gaven persoonlijk toesteming voor deze serie met voorwaarde dat de strips zo precies mogelijk werden benaderd zowel qua verhaal als tekenstijl. En in die tekenstijl zit een beetje het probleem. Op papier ziet het er best goed uit maar op het scherm komt het nogal houterig over.

There is still a Tintin series, but then from the 1970s and 1980s, which contains only a handful of the (comic) titles and in which the makers have made their own twist on the stories.

I have this series described here on DVD, as well as the comics. Now I have to say I like the comics better.

Herge's descendants gave personal permission for this series on the condition that the comics were approached as precisely as possible in terms of story and drawing style. And in that drawing style lies a bit of the problem. On paper it looks pretty good but on screen it comes across as a bit wooden.
