Axel Nort plot
Axel Nort is based on a message that appeared in 'De Groene Amsterdammer' at the time. There it was mentioned that an English lady was listening to the BBC through her electric heater. This message inspired screenwriter Louis De Groof to make a detective series in which a man dressed as Sherlock Holmes, driving an old 2 horsepower, solves crimes. The story begins when Nora Pintens' electric heater is stolen. On this radiant heater she can receive the Regional Radio Broadcasting and she calls on Axel's help to get this back. Together with his loyal helpers, including Dirk Talboom, son of the commissioner, he starts the search. Eventually they are drawn into an international trade of diamond smugglers led by Mister Kee.
