Mortal Kombat: Legacy plot

In the beginning, the universe and its spheres were in harmony, but even gods are not immune to power and greed. This balance was quickly upset. The power-hungry gods challenged each other over the fate of their respective realms. They fought to the death in tournaments alongside mortal champions chosen from each realm. For thousands of years, Shao Kahn, the Emperor of the Outworld, has successfully expanded his domain by defeating other realms. Edenia was the last realm to lose the tournament and fall to Shao Kahn. Now Shao Kahn has found a new challenge and yet another war is about to start. The fate of the Earth Empire and its inhabitants rests on the outcome of this tournament.
