Deputy US Marshall Sam McCloud is an American police officer from Taos, New Mexico who is deployed on a semi-permanent basis with the New York Police Department. As a "cowboy" in the big city, McCloud has his own way of fighting crime, not always to the satisfaction of his superiors.
