Halo plot
In the twenty-sixth century, humanity is waging an intergalactic war against an alien race called 'The Covenant'. An elite unit of super soldiers called 'The Spartans', led by 'Master Chief Spartan' John-117, fights this alien foe in order to avert this threat to human existence.

You cannot escape expectations. Like hope, they usually end in delayed disappointment, followed by a load of criticism. After all, no one can please everyone. Personally, I gave up expectations a long time ago: I let myself be surprised.
Halo falls into the category of pleasant surprises for me. Without being weighed down or influenced by the game's comparison, Halo offers plenty of entertainment, depth, action and drama. Schreiber creates a perfect Master Chief: the ultimate soldier who can be tough, but at the same time also endearing and vulnerable. The other cast members, including Natascha McElhone and Kate Kennedy, are also convincing in their roles.
The worlds, creatures and effects look beautiful - especially on a big screen with Dolby Vision and Atmos. The battle scenes are neat and create a good balance between the underlying narrative.
