The 'mystery' of a series like this can of course never be held for long and that is why they are taking a much more action-oriented approach with this third season. Jacob takes care of Ian's daughter (whom he brutally shot). In the first episodes, this creates a fine chemistry between Chad Michael Murray and the excellent acting Caitlin Carmichael. The rampage that Jacob starts after the daughter is kidnapped is also pretty brutal and cool to watch. There is nothing wrong with that side of the story.
Slightly less is the story of Rose McGowan's character. She and her children are seasoned players and survivors of 'The Game'. This of course provides action, action and more action, but in terms of character she is probably the least interesting / sympathetic of the entire series.
Still a great season, but because the mystery is lost, it becomes a more 'standard' series. Still a pretty strong ending, which is usual for this series. Looking forward to seeing what season 4 has to offer. Announced ages ago, but Crackle doesn't want to say anything about it yet.
