L'Affaire Bettencourt: Scandale chez la Femme la Plus Riche du Monde plot

Photographer François-Marie Banier has been cultivating a relationship with the significantly older billionaire Lilliane Bettencourt since the late 1980s. He was of humbler origins; she was heir to the L'Oréal group. The affair begins when Banier has to photograph Bettencourt. Sometime in the late 1980s he arrived at her spacious villa in Neuilly. During the photo session, something develops between the two and a relationship develops for two decades. During this period he manages to steal almost a billion euros from the richest woman in the world. At the time of her death in 2017, Lilliane Bettencourt had an estimated fortune of more than 35 billion euros.
