The Golden Girls plot

The series revolves around four elderly single women (three widows and one divorcee), who share a house in Miami, Florida. The owner of the house is the widow Blanche Devereaux. She is joined by widow Rose Nylund and divorced Dorothy Zbornak, who both respond to a "room for rent" advertisement on the local supermarket's bulletin board. After Dorothy's mother's retirement home burns down, the three are joined by 80-year-old Sophia Petrillo. Together they share different experiences and enjoy themselves despite the difficult times.
