Jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy plot
For two decades, filmmakers Coodie and Chike filmed Kanye West's life. They followed his entire career, with all its ups and downs. The lives of a rising superstar and the filmmakers intertwine so beautifully in this intense and intimate documentary triptych. During the three parts, Kanye's early beginnings and careful making of name and fame in Chicago's hip-hop scene are first discussed; then Kanye West's move as producer to New York, where he failed to land a contract. The remaining two parts explore Kanye's many roles, including those of artist, producer, businessman and fashion designer. His personal life and the suffering in it, such as the death of his mother and his failing campaign as a presidential candidate, are also discussed, accompanied by archive images.
