The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters plot

In 1849, 12-year-old Jamie McPheeters travels west with his scheming father and a group of pioneers during the gold rush. The caravan includes teenage orphan girl Jenny, the God-fearing Kissel family, law enforcement officer Coe and Buck Coulter, who is in charge of the travelers. Their path to the California goldfields is constantly thwarted by shrewd thieves, trigger-happy villains, Native American tribes and other dangers.
