Katla plot
'Katla' is the name of a volcano in Iceland, where mysterious and unknown things happen to it. A year after an eruption, a victim suddenly emerges from the volcano alive. Everyone in the very quiet nearby village of Vik is shocked by the return of the young woman, who everyone thought had died.

Mysterious, ominous eight-part Icelandic series from director Baltasar Kormakur. Really beautifully shot, with particularly impressive shots of a continuously ash-spitting volcano, but unfortunately the series leaves a lot to be desired. The sparse plot, while intriguing, gets stretched and smeared quite a bit and the characters don't really captivate. A pity, because the threatening, slowly escalating atmosphere is well captured and, as said, everything looks beautiful.

A wonderful series: beautiful nature, dark atmosphere, beautiful Icelandic language and a good story. I found the story to have a perfect pace to end the day with an episode. With a strong final episode.
